Val's Best Year Ever

Valerie’s Best Year Ever!

Valerie's Best Year Ever

I have never ever before kept a New Years resolution.

Last year at this time I pledged to have 12 hair colors, to have a life, and to have my best year ever. Three things that normally would have probably slipped by. But I definitely accomplished everything I wanted this year. Sure there were some sucky times (food poisoning in Florence, finding out that the last person who told me he loved me moved right near me the next week and didn’t tell me, falling head over heels for someone who doesn’t feel the same way, my car getting hit, missing the Fourth of July…) but they were far outweighed by the good

My Year in Random Highlights:

– Finding a great new one
– Getting over the one person I never thought I would.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
