Choosing Figs | Neurotic as Hell | A Travel, Lifestyle, and Life List Blog

Too much to consider.

one.
I am considering doing an insane vacation that would involve flying to Seattle, driving to Alaska, driving back to Seattle, spending a few days in Seattle, flying to New York for the hot dog eating contest…I would need to take a week and a half off of work. Should I go for it?

(p.s. anyone want to go to the hot dog eating contest with me on July 4? Anyone? Please?)

two.
The Official White House Flickr. Can I just have Pete Souza’s job?

three.
I may have spent twice my tax refund on a new camera lens.

four.
Monday was 24 night. Meredith made the most delicious bacon wrapped scallops ever. I need the recipe. The episode was kind of boring. We all made fun of the scene where the first daughter loomed over a giant “Execute” button on a webpage. I remarked the next day that that button would have come in handy before buying my lens. Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
