Celebrating Oktoberfest in Valencia, Spain

This is the weirdest Oktoberfest ever.

Celebrating Oktoberfest in Valencia, Spain.

On Saturday, after watching too many episodes of Modern Family, after eating what may have been the best pizza ever, after we waited for the rain to clear, we headed to Oktoberfest.

In Valencia.

With 80s music.

What the fuck?

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.

Seriously. It was such an odd thing to see an Oktoberfest thing in Spain. So Totally non-germanic. What with the dancing and the not-following-of-rules.

It looks awesomely bizarre and at least they got the beer & mass right. Oktoberfest may be the one time of year not-following-rules is actually in order for Germans.

I think it is rather awesome! Hell, you didn’t even have to go to Germany and make your way through the crowds! 😀

    Wish we were there!
