The sounds of Vang Vieng, Laos

The sounds of Vang Vieng…

The music of Vang Vieng, Laos.

If you want a taste of what it sounded like to be in Vang Vieng, Laos, listen to these songs. And then repeat. Over and over again. For two weeks…

Martin Solveig & Dragonette – Hello

Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP – We No Speak Americano

Rihanna – We Found Love

LMFAO – Sexy and I Know It

Jason Derulo – Don’t Wanna Go Home

David Guetta – Little Bad Girl

Maroon 5 – Moves Like Jagger

Pitbull – Give Me Everything

This song has pretty much been the anthem of my trip. I’ve heard it everywhere.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.

    Yup. Sounds like Vang Vieng.

PS. Adam Levine is my future love slave, just so you know.

If you were around this summer, you’d know how much and why I hate LMFAO. Its enough to make me almost dislike Madonna just because they were on the halftime show for approximately 20 seconds. ARgeblels.

Also, don’t forget to do your taxes.

Haha, this list is so true. We were pissing ourselves laughing at how bad the music was there, heard that hello song a million times. And the one that goes “johhny….what the fuck!!” hahah so fucking bad it made me want to cry. Apart from the bad music though, Vang Vieng is an amazing place.
