The Oppression of Roscoe Village.

The Oppression of Roscoe Village.

My last assignment for photo class was to document a city block and tell a story in three photos. Being the lazy self I am I took these photos about fifteen feet from my apartment. But it worked. I think I have to remind myself that even if I am not the best photographer I am pretty good at telling a story. And I think the technical know-how will come.

Here is my story of Roscoe Village in three photos. #1 is a view of the bridge. Heather says you need a dog and a baby to live here. #2 is a view standing under the bridge. #3 is a detail shot inside the bridge.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
