Chicago Snowpocalypse Snowstorm of 2011

Snowpocalypse Chicago 2011 Snow Storm.

Chicago was hit by a big blizzard yesterday and it continued throughout today. I left work early yesterday and today my office was closed so I spent the day bundled in a bathrobe on my couch. I listened to thunder and lightning, I watched someone circle the block on a snowmobile, I watched as hardly any cars went by and when those who did spin out. I watched people shovel out there cars and shovel and give up on trying to use the sidewalks. There were more footprints in the road than tire tracks.

Here is the snowstorm from the comfort of my couch…

The Chicago Snowstorm 2011 was dubbed, by many, Snowpocalypse Chicago. Though my favorite nickname of all was definitely Snowtorious B.I.G.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.

Thumbs up for the title of this blog post!

Pretty cool you got to stay at home all day and watch it from the warmth of your lounge room, that’s unheard of over here for office workers.
