Signature Classy Bling

Dear Ben Chrisman, stop making me cry. (No, actually, don’t.)

Thursday night, after watching “I’m addicted to Porn” Alyssa and I were flipping channels when we saw a show called “Paula Abdul Forever Your Girl.” Turns out she was just hawking jewelry on the Home Shopping Network. Did you know that a piece of jewelry can be considered both “classy” and “bling”? I did not know that! Also, did you know that you can purchase from HSN right from your remote? Not that we did… Mat came over and made us change the channel 🙁

Friday I woke up and looked at the clock. It said 10:30. I was supposed to wake up for work at around 7…Ooops. I left for work and got there only 2.5 hours late…Pretty good actually because I woke up 3.5 hours late! I just kind of sat down at my desk and no one seemed to notice. I really shouldn’t be posting this on the internet. But it’s the first time I’ve overslept in five or so years of working, so I think it’s OK.

You know what’s classy? I just realized that the jeans I threw on this morning and am wearing to work (even though I shouldn’t be wearing jeans to work in the first place) are the same jeans that someone dumped a beer on on Saturday night…unwashed, mind you. Seriously, I shouldn’t be posting this.

Maybe I shouldn’t take advice from “The Next Food Network Star” contestants, but my new quote to live by: “I might fail, but I’m failing at the right thing.”

Did you know that only half of the top lid of my left eye has eyelashes? So when I saw this commercial, I was very much intrigued…

It’s probably the first cosmetic enhancing treatment I have ever considered. But I don’t know. I’ve lived my whole life without lashes, why should I start now. And I am also terrified of going blind.

I have officially filled an entire 500GB external hard drive with photos. I need to invest in a terabyte or 2…

It has been exactly two years since I last dyed my hair. Can you believe the tips still have color? I am debating whether I want to start dying it again.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
