Choosing Figs | Neurotic as Hell | A Travel, Lifestyle, and Life List Blog

Short and sweet.

My ideal wedding dress.

I am in love with a $4,000 wedding dress.

Like. In Love.

Like. Considering buying it in love.

Like. I actually asked my financial panther if I could take $4,000 out of my account to buy it in love.

Like. If it was $3,000 cheaper it would probably be in my closet right now in love.

There is so much ridiculousness in this that I don’t know where to begin.

First of all I am not getting married any time soon. Any. Time. Soon.

Second of all, it’s $4,000 (or so). Which is about $3,500 over any budget I might ever have to buy a wedding dress and about half of what I would ever plan on spending on an entire wedding.

Third of all I am not getting married any time soon. Any. Time. Soon.

Fourth of all I probably shouldn’t be shopping for wedding dresses considering the first, second, and third of alls.

But I do. When I’m bored. Which is often.

But really, it’s exactly what I’ve been searching for. (Yes, searching.) And it’s the most perfectest wedding dress I have ever seen. And I am in love. And now I just have to fall in love…(and, you know, make $4,000 extra…)

This is my ideal wedding dress:

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
