Choosing Figs | Neurotic as Hell | A Travel, Lifestyle, and Life List Blog

No Wine for Sick Vals

I felt sick yesterday and woke up feeling sicker this morning. I realized I didn’t have my boss’s number and for some reason it wasn’t in the directory so I called a few random numbers and then gave up and set my alarm to wake back up at 9. Then I called, left a message, and fell back asleep until 11:30. I stayed in my pajamas in my bed and watched 4 episodes of Cash Cab (I am determined to see the Crazy Legs/Eater X episode! Alas it was not played but I did see the same question asked in two different episodes. I still didn’t remember the answer.) And then I watched four episodes of What I Like About You.
Bleh.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
