So, I found out last night that one of my favorite authors Rachel Cohn (yesyes, I like books meant for teenagers) puts together soundtracks for her books. This excited me as I do that too. I have one for Perfect Gray (my novel in progress) but I think it needs some spicing up (this is mainly do to my very limited interest in music, I like it but don’t seek it out. As Wendy, my heroine and alterego says, “I just don’t have the energy”).

I also got these ubercute Kurt Halsey CD sleeves today:

so, yes I am being a dork and want to make a perfect CD/Mixtape to put in them. hehe.

The three songs I definitely will have are:

The Smiths “Asleep– stolen from Perks of Being a Wallflower which is one of my favorite books and my sometimes inspiration

Alkaline Trio “Radio– Just because I and therefore Wendy like to play this over and over to appease many an emotion

Verve Pipe “The Freshmen– Because it was playing in the car the night he first tried to kiss me.

If anyone has any suggestions for music I might like or that would fit young adult coming of age bs, let me know! I really only listed to whats on the radio.

Since this is an all music themed post, I shall now share a SEXY almost naked pic of Sid playing the guitar that I took about a year ago and just got back recently, enjoy!

If you were writing a book, what would go on that book's mixtape?

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
