Ketchup does make everything better.

Chelsa and I decided to use up one of our Groupons the other day and try The Meatloaf Bakery — a bakery that sells cupcakes…made of meat!

We decided to each get our own meaty meatloaf cupcake and then share a veggie one…

I got the No Buns About It Meatloaf Cupcake — beef cupcake with bacon, cheddar, onions, mustard, ketchup, and pickles topped with cheesy taters and served with special sauce.

It was OMGDelicious. For serious. The fact that it came with special sauce sealed the deal.

Chelsa got the Loaf-a-Roma Meatloaf Cupcake — beef and Italian sausage with mozzarella cheese, sun dried tomatoes, basil and red wine topped with angel hair pasta and served with marinara sauce.

And then we shared a Yentl Lentl Meatloaf Cupcake — lentils, brown rice, vegetables, and cheese topped with bell peppers and served with roasted red bell pepper coulis.

It was pretty tasty though a little pricey. Each cupcake was about $9 (we had a $20 for $10 Groupon). And the space was really small. They really just had a counter and then two tiny tables. Luckily there was a free table when we got there!

I get to go back at some point since Chelsa and I both ended up buying the deal, so we decided to go twice and share each time! Looking forward to trying some of the other meatcakes at Meatloaf Bakery Chicago!

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
