Choosing Figs | Neurotic as Hell | A Travel, Lifestyle, and Life List Blog

It’s like giving the doorknob a hand job.

1. Bah, so many photos from my Missouri road trip to go through before I can blog! Hopefully tonight or tomorrow though!

2. Heather and I got sushi for dinner. FYI, I ate sushi with roe on it and a hamburger with lettuce on it this week. I am still alive. I do however have a bad cold and sore throat. I blame the lettuce.

3. Last night me and the guy at the liquor store had a conversation with Heather to try to convince her to not take up smoking. Heather, do not take up smoking. She then made me go to the sex shop next door with her.

6. I can’t believe my Seattle/Hyder/New York trip is only two weeks away!

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
