Choosing Figs | Neurotic as Hell | A Travel, Lifestyle, and Life List Blog

I’m kinda slow like that.

1. After about 6 months…

The mutual funds from my financial advisor have made me $177.86

The savings account I set up with HALF AS MUCH MONEY IN IT has made me $251.63 in that time.

:'(

2. Did I mention I gave my financial planner both a kickass car and a kickass tie for Christmas and all I got were 2 promotional pocket calendars?

3. I was frustrated while looking for a pair of jeans today. I kept looking for my size and all I saw was 25, 27, 28…and kept thinking jeez, I’m a 4, why are there only racks for big people? It was only much much later that it snapped that those were waist sizes…when did they start switching to those???

4. Greatest quote in American Idol history:

“Simon didn’t go down on me too hard.

Simon goes down on everyone.”

All in all so far this season is better than last year. Last year they showed way too many bad people and no good people. It’s about 19 good to 29 bad thus far.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.

Wait… you mean they finally came to their senses and started putting waist sizes on girls clothes?
I love going to find clothes, look for my waist size, and Bam! 9 times out of 10 they’ll fit.
When I go shopping with Sara, she needs to get multiple sizes of each type of pant that she tries because they don’t have consistent waist sizes when they say a 4 or whatever it can vary quite a bit.
All because people don’t like really knowing how big their waistline is… I’m glad they’ve finally tried to start standardizing sizes. /rant
    I’ll see you tomorrow!
