Choosing Figs | Neurotic as Hell | A Travel, Lifestyle, and Life List Blog

I want a snow day.

24 is just getting creepier and scarier and more and more confusing. Why can’t they just spend 24 hours preparing for a tea party? The show frustrates me because I just want everything to be better and I don’t think it will be.

Being told you are hated for 2 days, even if it is just a joke, can make a person feel pretty damn shitty.

It’s days like today where I miss my old job because I would have called a snow day 🙁

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.

Oooh my remember personal info is working! Thanks Val!
In regards to the 24 hour tea party, I just laughed here at my office at the idea of Jack Bauer saying something like “WE NEED THAT SUGAR NOW! ITS FOR AMERICA!!!” ::electrocutes old woman in floppy hat with lampwire::
Hopefully that person who said that they hated you apologizes and realizes what he (it’s usually a he) did. Most guys do this unintentionally, especially with female friends, we cross lines we didn’t even know about. Sorry on behalf of the gender.

to be fair, many of the times involved me saying “you hate me” and him saying “yeah, I do” or something to that effect.
it just would be nice to every once in a while hear “no, i don’t” 🙂
