Horchata RumChata Pudding Shots Recipe

Have you ever had RumChata? The creamy, dreamy, sweet, alcohol is liquid perfection. If you ask me. And what’s even more perfection? Using the liqueur to make horchata flavored RumChata pudding shots. That recipe is dessert perfection. If you ask me.
The first time that I had RumChata rum liqueur I was in a bar in the Wicker Park area of Chicago (read: hipster central). I was with a friend and we noticed a sleek white bottle that we’d never seen before mixed in amongst other potables on the shelf. We asked the bartender what it was and then quickly ordered a round of shots. And then another. And then, possibly, another.
It was that good.
The beverage is a cream liqueur that mixes Caribbean rum and real dairy cream with natural cinnamon, vanilla, sugar and spices. It’s meant to mimic the popular Latin American rice-based drink, Horchata. But with alcohol. Because everything is better with alcohol.
Kind of like how pudding is better with alcohol. Yes, I said pudding.
This RumChata pudding shots recipe (read: horchata-flavored alcoholic pudding) is simple to make: combine cold milk, RumChata, and instant vanilla pudding together in a bowl. Stir. Top, if desired, with a sprinkle of cinnamon or a cinnamon whipped cream. Be done.
But don’t let the simplicity of the recipe fool you: these horchata pudding shots are that good.
I made these RumChata vanilla pudding shots for my last birthday party and they were a hit. If you ask me.
