I'm single. And being single means Valentine's Day is filled with sugar and alcohol. Sugar and alcohol that I have to buy for myself thank you very much. So if I'm going to spend the day stuffing myself silly with my vices to compensate for the fact that I have no man in my life and am probably going to grow old, alone, with no one beside me but my cats, I might as well make my favorite alcoholic sugary-filled treat and make some of these Valentine's Day pudding shot recipes. OK, so really I just had to make something for...

I've never made a cheesecake from scratch. It just seems like one of those things I'd probably screw up. It wouldn't set. It would jiggle too much and fall all over the floor. It would taste like cream cheese and nothing else. I don't know. I just know I'd screw it up. So instead of even attempting to try to make a cheesecake, I think I'll stick with something I know I'm good at making and make these strawberry cheesecake pudding shots instead. Because you can't screw up pudding shots. I mean, I guess they can get too liquidy. But, if that's...

Chocolate covered strawberries have always been one of my favorite sweet treats. A sweet, juicy strawberry, coated in a hard shell of chocolate always gives you that fresh bite that's just a little bit sinful. So when I was thinking of Valentine's Day pudding shot recipes, one of the first ideas that popped into my mind was making chocolate covered strawberry pudding shots. To make these pink pudding shots, you start with my basic strawberry pudding shot recipe, taking the directions from the back of your instant pudding mix, replacing half of the milk with alcohol (in this recipe, Baileys' Strawberries...

This strawberry pudding shots recipe makes a creamy dessert with a boozy punch. The pink pudding shots make for a fun alcoholic dessert for a weekend party, a Valentine's Day dinner (personally, I made them for a Valentine's Day pot luck), a Galentine's Day brunch with friends, or a spring Fourth of July picnic (you can even make them red white and blue by layering them with vanilla pudding shots and blueberries.) This recipe is made with the standard pudding shot ratios, taking the directions from the back of your instant pudding mix, replacing half of the milk with...

Last year I dated a cat guy. This guy loved cats as much as I did, probably even more so because he actually had a cat while I just admired them from afar. He volunteered at a cat shelter and we'd exchange texts about reality TV kittens. He didn't even think I was a weirdo for suggesting a date to see Kedi, a documentary about the cats in Istanbul. And it really was the best date. But he never actually introduced me to his cat (we'd always end up at my place), and, eventually, we parted ways. It's all good, though....

February was a tough month. I spent most of the 28 days working, even on weekends where I worked anywhere from an extra hour or two to an extra twelve. And one of my best friends moved way. And didn't say goodbye. And hasn't talked to me since. And I've had to, more and more, come to the realization that maybe he was never a friend at all. Sigh. I'm just exhausted from it all. Anyways, here are a few of the things I got up to in February when I wasn't working or crying into my pillow...

1. I made myself a heart-shaped burger for Valentine's Day. I don't need a man to make heart-shaped meat product for me. But it would be nice.   2. On Valentine's Day morning Chelsa and I grabbed brunch at Blue Bayou where I had a crawfish omelet and we split some beignets. Then we met Joe and Alina and Cornie and some others to see Casablanca at Music Box. Can you believe I've never seen it before? It was really good but it kind of took me too out of it that I kept thinking "Oh, that's where that line is from!" and...

1. Aw, my Valentine gave me a flower :) 2. Haha, my eight hour 24 marathon totally trumped Walter's six-hour marathon. I win in patheticness! 3. Thank you to all my anonymous message leavers! Y'all made me so happy :) I'm sure I secretly love you too! ...
