OK…so we did nothing in Valencia. Nothing. You can't even count La Tomatina, because that was in Bunol. And our eating was anything but authentic. But sometimes a break from everything is just needed. So why ruin the streak on the last night? Outside of Oktoberfest we sat around watching episodes of Modern Family all day. Can you believe that I'd never seen an episode at all before this trip? I should have listened to people. It's an awesome show. And then we went to get fast food burgers for dinner. And we may have felt starving so ordered way too...

I'd been in Valencia for a week and, let's face it, I'd done nothing. On Friday we were determined to change all that. The plan was to walk around the Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències and then walk around the town center and then go to an Oktoberfest celebration. Which might have been a good plan. If it didn't start raining. So we ducked into a mall for cover. And ended up eating at a Spanish buffet. And then it was still raining so we wandered the mall. And the Carrefour. And after all that it was still raining. And we...

Our next two days in Valencia pretty much revolved around shopping and food. We headed to a couple of markets and went all around town trying to find clothes and gear that might withstand getting pummeled by tomatoes (really, our biggest/only reason for meeting up in Valencia was to go to La Tomatina, the world's biggest tomato fight). And we ate a lot of food. Totally un-Spanish food...
