"We have to take Valry on adventures or else she's going to leave again." Heather   Since I came home from traveling around the world, Heather has decided that we need to take adventures,to keep me excited, so I won't leave again to travel. Of course, I already am planning to leave again to travel to Guatemala, but we might as well have a little fun while I'm in Chicago no matter what. Being Halloween, we decided to spend a day traveling to the Bear Den Zoo Pumpkin Farm in Waterford, Wisconsin to go pumpkin picking. (And to stop at a few must-see roadside...

It's that time of year again: pumpkins get carved, costumes get flaunted, ghost stories get told, candy gets handed out, and I lock myself in a movie theater for twenty-four hours subjecting myself to the horrors of the horror film. For the third year in a row I headed out to the Music Box Theater for their annual Music Box Massacre movie marathon: twenty-four hours of horror films, one after another from noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday. We got to the theater to stand in line at about 9:30am — two and a half hours before the movie mayhem was...

Halloween. Last weekend. Well, two weekends now. Friday Rocky Horror. Midnight. So many virgins. They threw their toilet paper at the wrong time. Watching costumes out the window and making up what they were. Bobby Flay met Emeril. A headless cow. Saturday Boys Town Halloween parade. I was a jackalope. Heather was a superhero. Ron was from Where the Wild Things are. Don was pinhead. I also got an oil change. Like a big girl. (My jackalope Halloween costume was just a fur-lined sweatshirt turned inside out, a rabbit ear headband coupled with a deer horn headband and a nose painted pink with blush.)...

So I guess I'm technically not a virgin because I did it once in theatre camp. But I don't know if that time really counted. But Saturday night Chelsa and I totally did it together. I, of course, am talking about watching Rocky Horror Picture Show live! So besides the time we did a Rocky Horror screening at theatre camp (yes, I was one of those kids), I'd never been to see it live! Which is totally a shame. Because seeing it "live" is kind of awesome. By "live" here I mean they show the movie and people dress up and act it...

Nothing really seemed to be going on for Halloween so I wasn't really planning on anything. but then Joe from work told me that I should come along to the Boystown Halloween parade so I might do that tomorrow. I decided that if I go to a Halloween Parade I should probably buy a Halloween costume. So I went to Target the night before Halloween and sifted through their clearance rack. I ended up with a toddler sized Sesame Street Abby Cadabby costume...
