"It's not that I don't like music," I sometimes have to explain to people, "I'm just not a music person." You see, I'm just not a music person. I'm not someone who follows bands. Or could name who sang any song. Or even someone who has a favorite band. And a lot of people don't understand that. Because a lot of people are music people. But I never have been. And I'm pretty sure I haven't had a favorite band since New Kids on the Block in third grade. And if I want background noise at home I usually put on Food Network,...

Saturday was RedBone Willy's Bluegrass & Acoustic Music Festival in Lawndale, North Carolina! Sadie and I left her place early for the drive to the festival. And on our way we stopped for some breakfast to give me my first taste of Bojangles (not to be confused with Heather's cat). We met up with her sisters Carrie and Jamie (the other half of the Hungry Sisters) and a whole bunch of others for the day. We spent the day listening to some awesome bluegrass music and drinking and eating hanging out and moving with the shade and eating the best grilled...

On Monday Jen was in town (yay!) and so was Kurt (yay!) so I hiked it over to the bean to meet them at lunch time. Jen and Kurt had just been to the new(ish) modern wing at the Art Institute so Kurt was inspired to create some post-modern art of his own...

My horoscope for Saturday, October 4: CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19): Remembering is sweet. Checking in with the past makes you feel secure in a strange way. And while you're bringing up old memories, you may bring back some small part of who you used to be. *** Last night may very well have been the most important and amazing night of my life thus far. You see, a long time ago I fell in love for the first time. He was my first crush, my first love, and a boy I was certain would ask me to marry him some day. He was...

This is probably going to be the worst recap ever. My Lollapalooza experience has become so jumbled in my head that all the bands pretty much have become one megasuperband that I loved but don't remember why (other than the inevitable conclusion that "the guitar player was hot"). Here goes nothing...

This is a list of just about every concert I've ever gone to. It is probably pretty much an exhaustive list minus local small shows and such. I'm not very versed in music. I love concerts but I never plan outings and no one ever invites me. So it's pretty pathetic. But, with a whole weekend of Lollapalooza coming up, I was inspired to compile this...

If I ever leave this world alive I'll take on all the sadness That I left behind If I ever leave this world alive The madness that you feel will soon subside So in a word don't shed a tear I'll be here when it all gets weird If I ever leave this world alive So when in doubt just call my name Just before you go insane If I ever leave this world Hey I may never leave this world But if I ever leave this world alive So seriously, how many concerts can you go to and say "Man, that accordion player is kind of pretty hot"? And how many times...
