Atomium in Brussels, Belgium

Big balls ahead! (or I don’t know!)

Peeing statues and the Atomium in Brussels, Belgium.

The best thing about buying a ticket to Belgium on a whim was that, as it turned out, my trip to Brussels would coincide with Jaime’s! Jaime is one of my bestest twitter friends and we had plans to meet in Valencia at the end of August, but we were able to move our meeting date a whole month early!

On Wednesday we met up at our hostel and then hit the town to explore. We happened upon a carnival and walked around.

And he wanted me to go on this…

I asked him if he wanted me to throw up on him.

Then we got some beers and chilled for a while.

We found a peeing dog…

We snuck onto the top of a parking garage for some awesome views…

We found a peeing woman…

And then we had enough with the peeing things and called it a night.

The next day we took a walk to find the BIG BALLS! AKA the Atomium!

It was a looooong walk, but we had fun along the way!

And then after many an optical allusion…we found them!!!

And then we headed back.

And got a milkshake.

And I attempted myself a Breakaway Backpacker-style tow touch on the square.

And kind of failed…

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.

    Hello!
    Nice pictures!
I was wondering if the bag you have in your picture in front of the Atomium is your camera bag, and if so, what model/make it is.
    Thanks!

Really lovely photos of the day!

When I was on my Oz road trip I fell way behind on blogs. Now that I’m (finally) readjusting to being home, I’m catching up and can’t wait to see where your trip takes you. Enjoy our mutual Twitter bestie Jaime!
