Choosing Figs | Neurotic as Hell | A Travel, Lifestyle, and Life List Blog

Because i am boring and have nothing else to post.

I should apply for this job.

If you are looking for something to get for me for Christmas.

This guy was outside my office yesterday handing out flyers the he was looking for work and would buy an interview. I think I should tell him I will interview him if he gives me $20. Or that for $200 I will redesign his website and edit his resume, because they are both kind of bad. I think it looks way desperate to offer to pay for an interview (of course, I am sure he will get offers…just probably not the ones he might want…) but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.

Eatfeats (an awesome competitive eating blog, where I get 99.9% of all my ce news) now links to me from their sidebar navigation under “competitive eating fans.” Yes my friends, I have arrived.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.

But it says you need to be a graduating college senior for that job!
