Cerro de la Cruz in Antigua, Guatemala

A (real) walking tour of Antigua, Guatemala

There’s a lot to see and do in Antigua. But, to be honest, after studying for four hours each morning, I kind of wanted to do nothing many afternoons. One day, determined to see as much as humanely possible, my friend Charlotte took some of us on a guidebook-led walking tour (a much more comprehensive look than the free one we had taken through our school). And a few other afternoons I managed to squeeze in some sightseeing between school, being lazy, our weekend trip to Monterrico Beach, and school run field trips…

Here are some of the sites, presented with absolutely no information. Because I am a terrible and lazy blogger.

Hi, I'm Val. I spent most of my 20s in a standstill, unable to pick which path in life I wanted to take. I wanted the nomadic life of a traveler but also wanted the husband, the condo, and the kitten. Unable to decide which life I wanted more, I did nothing. When I turned 30 I’d had enough of putting my life on hold and decided to start “choosing my figs.” So, I quit my job, bought a one-way ticket to Europe, and traveled for three years. Now I'm back in Chicago, decorating my apartment in all the teal, petting my cats, and planning my next adventure.
