A failed attempt.
Attempting to dye my hair pink.
I have had a bottle of pink hair dye that has been sitting in my drawer for, no joke, twelve years. I probably bought it my sophomore year of college when I was dying my hair every color of the rainbow. Every color, that is, except pink. I did once dye it (and the entire dorm bathroom) a deep shade of maroon. But never a light pretty fairy-tale-esque pink.
And, as you all can probably tell, pink is my favorite color.
With a lack of Halloween costume this year, and no desire to fork over any money for one, I decided to bust out that twelve-year old bottle of hair dye and see what would happen. I didn’t really have high hopes. It’s, first of all, damn old. And I know if I really truly wanted it pink I’d have to bleach my hair first. And considering I haven’t dyed my hair any color in over five years I wasn’t really ready to make that kind of a commitment.
And so when I washed the dye out of my hair I wasn’t really all that surprised that it really didn’t look all that different.
Oh well. You can’t win them all.
Dye my hair pink is still #50 on my life list.
