Life List #148: Do yoga.
Intro to yoga class at The Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.
I mean, I did “do yoga” while in Bali. Technically. And, besides, I never said “do yoga every day” or “become a yoga expert” or “practice yoga religiously.” I just said “do it.” And I did it. So I did it.
The introductory class at The Yoga Barn in Ubud was designed for students, like me, who are new to yoga. nd so they taught us the basic yoga poses and stances and simple breathing techniques and traditions and flow in the class. I had actually meant to go back to The Yoga Barn to take another class while I was in town (maybe try an actual beginner level class of some sort), but then I got distracted by rice paddies and monkeys jumping on my head and, well, all the shopping. So I settled for just the one lesson.
But I do plan to try to go more yoga classes wherever in the world I can. And maybe take it up more seriously when I stop traveling someday and return home. Because I enjoyed doing yoga in that way where you can’t really enjoy something that strains all your muscles and makes you look like an uncoordinated fool.
But I did feel good after the beginners class. Kind of.
I hadn’t stretched like that in years.
And anyways, even if you’re only going to do yoga once in your entire lifetime, Ubud is probably the place to do it…
“Do yoga” was #148 on my life list.
And I did it. So there.
The Yoga Barn is located at Jln. Raya Pengoseken Ubud, Gianyar, between Jln. Raya Pengoseken and Jln. Sukma Kesuma.
