So we made it to Hyder, Alaska and were surprised that we didn't have to stop at customs to roll into the new town and new country we were entering from Canada. The town itself is beautiful despite having nothing really going on. We stopped for a while and took photos outside of the Welcome to Hyder, Alaska sign. We stopped at the Glacier Inn bar to get Hyderized. That means they give you a pretty big shot of 150 proof everclear. I went from OK to drunk and sick in about 10 seconds. Our trip from Seattle to Hyder, Alaska lasted three days. It was about 20 hours of driving each way which was a long journey to get to a town that basically held nothing. But it was definitely worth it. There really is nothing in Hyder, Alaska but it's one of those places that you go to just to say you went. And you should totally go! Because it's awesome. ...
